Danke für deine Fehlermeldungen, Daft. Das wird dann beim nächsten Update editiert! :klatschen1:

Zu Summer Of Energy:

Italian group formed in 1991 , in Bologna , Italy, by the musicians Ciro Pagano

(ex-member and founder of the Italian electro pop group Gaznevada,

one of the most importants in the 80's) and Stefano Mazzavillani

(musician and arranger of more famous italian pop-singers in the 80’s)

In the beginning they collaborate with two importants djs: DJ Cirillo and DJ

Ricci that are involved in all the datura productions from 1991 until 1995.

Datura collaborate with artists as Billie Ray Martin, Steve Strange from

Visage, Ben Volpelier Pierrot from Curiosity Killed the Cat and remixed

artists as: Freddie Mercury, Luciano Ligabue, Spagna, Irene Grandi,

Skiantos, CSI… The first single was "Nu Style" , in the summer of 1991 ,

followed by smash-hits "Yerba Del Diablo", "Eternity" and more.

In 1995 DJ Ricci stops to collaborate with the band and in 2000 also Cirillo

leaves Datura.

The name "Datura" is a magical and hallucinogen plant which grows in the

hills of North Mexico that the Yaqui shaman use for their rituals to get

close to knowledge. Actually Datura are deejays too and they are involved in

more music projects and productions besides Datura.

:D

:italianhardstyle:

Thanks to Kazin and Daft! :rockdahouse:

______________________

Il Folklorista - Espana Cana (original - by Tony Mottola) Kann mir das jemand bestätigen?

Dance'N'Roll - Dance'N'Roll Weiß hier jemand genaueres?

Gigi D'Agostino - Tangology Gibt es dazu weitere Infos?

Gigi D'Agostino - Sottosopra ...

Gigi D'Agostino - Another Way -> Very similar track: Buggles - Elstree

Hy!

Thanks kazin, you're a big help!

But in your post are many mistakes ... one example:

Sorry, but almost all of your songwriter credits for the Gigi versions are wrong!

E.g. you write:

Il Folklorista - Those Were The Days (2005)

[Di Agostino - Martire]

But in reality (booklet) it's:

Il Folklorista - Those Were The Days

[Gene Raskin]

Never rely solely on Wikipedia when you try to prove s.th. like this.

Wikipedia is in no way official information, you never know, where those infos come from and who edited the articles.

Better look in the booklet yourself or take a look at the Discogs site.

I know what write in the booklets. You just don't understand me.

Because.

Frankly speaking, Gigi must put an information about the people in a booklet, who are the original authors of the composition. In other words, in our case:

Il Folklorista - Those Were The Days (Gigi Dag & Luca Noise Trip) -> Gigi & Luca are authors of the cover = Di Agostino & Martire

[Gene Raskin] -> is an original authorship

The same situation is with the other compositions.

Never rely solely on Wikipedia when you try to prove s.th. like this.

Yes, thats right. But Discogs tells the same thing:

http://www.discogs.com/release/1013690

So, in any case, if you don't trust me and these sources, you can easily ask about it on the Official Gigi's forum. I'm sure there you will find the truth at last :)

Link zu diesem Kommentar

This is not how it works. There are no "authors" of a cover version, because covers usally keep the original composition. When they take the original song and completely turn it around or just take samples from them they add their songwriter credits to the original ones, e.g.:

Gigi D'Agostino - Complex (2003)

[L. Di Agostino - A. Wilder]

Depeche Mode - If You Want (1984)

[Alan Wilder]

Gigi D'Agostino & Pandolfi - Gigi's Goodnight (2004)

[C. Zennaro - D. Marani - A. Pandolfi - F. Zafret - M. Pinosa - R. Paganelli - S. Portaluri - L. Di Agostino]

Mo-Do - Eins, Zwei, Polizei (1994)

[Zennaro - Zafret - Pinosa - Portaluri]

Gigi D'Agostino - La Passion (1999)

[L. Di Agostino - Jacno]

Jacno feat. AS Dragon - Rectangle (1971)

[Jacno]

Otherwise the original author is automatically also the author of the cover and gets the tantieme for it.

When there's written "Gigi Dag & Luca Noise Trip", it means only that this version is remixed by them.

Btw. the Discogs page you posted just lists the original author, not Di Agostino and Martire you were reffering to.

Außerdem scheint das Open Your Mind auch etwas von anderen Quellen drin zu haben: "Incorporates elements from New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84) by Simple Minds and dialogue from the film Total Recall. " :hmm:

Every remix lools like:

original author - title (remix author\title)

But in our case - it's a remake, what means:

remake author - title (version)

If Gigi remixed the track, it would looks like:

Mary Hopkin - Those Were The Days (Il Folklorista Remix) or (Gigi Dag & Luca Noise Remix)

But it's not so.

So, imho, you wrong. The version tell's us who are the authors of the remake (and not just tells us who remixed the song 'cause it's not a remix).

2 DonHergeFan:

Sorry, but the artist is completely seperate from the author. In some cases, the artist also takes part in the songwriting, but in many others, they either let others write their songs or cover old songs. There is no such thing as a "cover author", even if there was it's still irrelevant. Author is always the same, no matter which artists perform the song. Except when they sample parts of songs and make new ones out of them or get special permission from the author or rightholder to modify the composition.
