BIOGRAFIE

Begonnen hatte alles im Frühjahr 1991 in den Coco Studios in Bologna. Ciro Pagano, Stefano Mazzavillani, DJ Ricci und DJ Cirillo haben sich getroffen. Im Oktober 1991 kam ihre erste Single: "Nu Style". Hier gab die Stimme von Yaqui den Ton an. Die Single war immerhin bereits in verschiedenen Hitparaden vertreten. Im August 1992 gelang Datura dann mit "Yerba del Diablo" ihr erster Erfolg. Sie erreichten Gold für über 100.000 verkaufte Singles.

Im Frühjahr 1993 folgte "Devotion", das ähnlich erfolgreich wurde. Mit dieser Single wurde der Grundstein zur Zusammenarbeit mit Billie Ray Martin gelegt.

Das erste Datura-Album kam im Herbst 1993 und trug den Titel "Eternity". Der Erfolg des Albums ließ zu wünschen übrig - ganz im Gegensatz zu der Single "Eternity", die in sämtlichen italienischen Charts Platz 1 erreichte.

Weitere Hits folgten im Lauf der nächsten Monate und Jahre: "Fade To Grey" machte Datura auch außerhalb Italiens bekannt, "The 7th Halluzination" war mystisch angehaucht und "EL Sueno" wurde nicht nur ein Hit in den Discotheken, sondern wurde auch in den italienischen Fußball-Stadien als Stimmungshit ähnlich des "Hey Baby" von DJ Ötzi zelebriert.

Im Mai 1995 kam es zur Zusammenarbeit mit Usura. "Infinity" wurde zum Bestseller im Sommer desselben Jahres. Im November 1995 kam mit "Angeli Domini" eine in Latein gesungene Nummer und wurde wiederum zum Hit. Es folgten "Mystic Motion" (gesungen von Billie Ray Martin) und "Mantra".

Nach "Voo-Doo Believe" und "From Here to Eternity" war erst mal Pause. Im Frühjahr 2002 gelang Datura mit "Will Be One" wieder ein Nr. 1 Hit in den Italienischen Dance-Charts - der Titel hatte alles, was ein klasse Dance-Track braucht: tolle Beats, eine eingängige Melodie und richtig gute Vocals. Wer dann dachte, es folgen zügig weitere Datura Singles, sah sich getäuscht.

Erst im September 2004 kam „Summer Of Energy“. Der Track erinnert an „Will Be One“ und wurde zusammen mit Gigi D’Agostino realisiert. Bei so viel Italo Dance Kompetenz ist ein Hit vorprogammiert ...

AFTER ìDEVOTIONî SUNG BY BILLY RAY MARTIN IT STARTS A COOPERATION WITH HER WHO SINGS FOR OTHER TWO TRACKS INCLUDED IN THE DATURA ALBUM CALLED “ETERNITY” LIKE THE SINGLE PREVIOUSLY RELEASED WHICH REACHED THE FIRST POSITION IN THE OFFICIAL SALES CHART IN ITALY.
