Das Entwicklungsstudio Crystal Dynamics aus Kalifornien kündigt in einer Pressemeldung den nächsten Teil der Tomb Raider-Serie an: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light -- die Worte »Tomb Raider« wurden also komplett aus dem Titel gestrichen. Das Spiel soll noch in diesem Jahr erscheinen und das vorerst nur als Download-Version.

Aus der Pressemeldung geht nicht hervor, für welche Plattformen das Spiel entwickelt wird. Es könnte sich also um einen Xbox 360- oder PlayStation 3-Titel, als auch möglicherweise um ein Spiel für iPhone bzw. iPod touch handeln.

Diese Unklarheit wird aber schon nächste Woche in San Fransisco beseitigt werden, denn Guardian of Light wird nach Angaben von Crystal Dynamics auf der Games Developers Conferenz (GDC) hinter verschlossenen Türen der Fachpresse gezeigt.
