PIONEER LEADS THE WAY IN DJ EFFECTOR TECHNOLOGY August 2004 - Pioneer Electronics Inc. announces two new DJ effects units: New Club Professional Effector EFX-1000 Offers 24-bit/96kHz Digital Sampling System The all-new EFX-1000 is a significant edition to Pioneer's new Club Professional Series and has been designed and developed together with some of the worlds leading DJs and club installers. Most importantly the EFX-1000 provides DJs with the best audio quality possible, using a 24-bit/96kHz digital-sampling system and 32-bit digital sound processing. The bypass function of the EFX-1000 enables the user to process the effects with their original high sound quality. Any serious club or studio DJ will immediately hear the impact of the increased processing power, which results in better audio quality in their mix. Pioneer's EFX-1000 also builds on the unique features of earlier models by including a wide range of sound effects in an easy-to-manipulate system. The EFX-1000 offers more than the usual range of sound effects, including: Delay, Echo, Pitch Echo, Trans, Flanger, Filter and Phaser. For the first time in the industry, the EFX-1000 enables DJs to beat match in sync with a pre-programmed rhythm. Additionally the EFX-1000 will measure beats per minute and beat match in sync with the tempo of the music. DJs can select multiple frequency ranges (High, Mid, Low), vastly improving the musical expression compared with existing full-range effectors. The large, easy-to-manipulate Digital Jog Break enables control of sound effects including: Jet, Wah, Phase, Shifter Ring, Zip, Humanizer and Vocoder. And a new "hold switch" can be used to maintain a sound effect, freeing up a hand. The Jog Memory Play memorizes and reproduces the dial's movements either once or in a continuous loop. The balance of the effects as well as the depth of the original sound can also be modified. The EFX-1000's range of features include: - Depth knob to adjust the strength and depth of effects. - Character Knob to change the parameter of the effects. - Mix Knob to change the balance of the original sound and effected sound. - Signal Flow Switch to change the signal path of the sound. The metallic red colour has been introduced in response to DJs wanting to add extra visual flair to their set up. Using unrivaled digital technology the EFX-500-R offers a tremendous selection of sounds for the most dynamic and challenging mixes, easily creating Delay, Echo, Pan, Flanger or Transformer effects with its Auto BPM function. The Auto BPM counter automatically measures beats per minute of music and turns it into digital indication, creating live effects in sync with a pre-set beat. DJs can visually confirm the BPM of the input music source. The Effect Frequency Selection allows selection of a specific frequency from the three bands (Hi, Mid, Low), which vastly improves the musical expressions. One, two or three frequency ranges can be selected at the same time. A Momentary On/Lock On system is used for smooth transitions. An easy-to-use Digital Jog Break Dial enables Jet, Zip, Wah, Ring or Fuzz effects to be created, while a Jog Memory Play feature memorizes Jog Dial movement and reproduces its motion at the press of a button. The depth of the original sound also can be modified. There is a high quality 3-band equalizer, which cuts sounds up to infinity dB and completely silences the audio in each band, as selected by the DJ. A midi port can be used to connect the EFX-500-R to compatible electronic keyboards and other instruments for beat-matched effects.
