nobody's said the release day?! Where do you read that it is going to be released on 15.01.2018?

@Marios7: I'm gently suggesting that Gigi clearly told its gonna be released in the "first weeks of January":

- the very first week is the current one (Jan 1-7) /we can rule it that its gonna be released this week for sure/
- then the next "first week" is Jan 8-14.

And we only have 11 days until this ending date (14th of January) - after 14th we cannot really talk about first week(s), but the half of the month, so...

actually Gigi wrote first weeks of 2018... by the way I reckon/hope that it will be january but I thought you have other sources!

I also understood that Gigi released the compilation in the first weeks of this month!

I could have changed too !!! :-(

Haha... I just got the information that the whole Time Records staff is still on holiday and their offices are closed, from Dec 22th - 7th January!  :D

So... I guess the new disc have to print out itself or maybe Gigi and Luca are burning the disc for us, this is the only way it could be released in the so-mentioned "first weeks" of this year/month (which should really mean the same) :D

But don't be so pessimistic! Anything could happen!

In den ersten Wochen des Jahres 2018 kommt das Album, sagt Gigi. Das Jahr hat 52 Wochen. Wenn man es aufteilen möchte in 26 erste Wochen und 26 letzte Wochen, dann kann das Album theoretisch auch erst im Juni kommen. Das ist Fakt und hat nicht im geringsten mit Spekulation zu tun...

@Badzu: but there is no point in announcing a new release saying its coming in the first weeks of 2018, then just let everyone forget about it at all and release it half year later. :D Then it would be better to just stay in silence until April/May, and tell the people that the disc is coming in two months.

So yes, in this context it really should mean January by all means. (or start of February by last, if theres any delay - but as we know Gigi well, why would there be any delay :D)

there's any pessimism around... probably you only forget laboratorio 4, mondo reale, ieri & oggi mix vol 3 and MANY others release that Gigi has announced without never seeing any light unfortunately!

But at least we can listen to Il Cammino Compilation and Lento Violento compilation in the meantime! (oh, wait...) :D

By the way I don't see it as bad as of now, Gigi is definitely trying to keep us entertained with all the tracks he have uploaded to his YouTube channel(s), all these mixes, unfinished tracks, etc etc... definitely trying his best to share something until any "real" content is released.

He only have problems with finishing things, I guess its because he can't cope very well with into/outros of the tracks, he must have lose affection in the meantime. Also possibly he doesn't really likes the mastering process of the creation progress, thats why Luca is also there to make everything sound like it really should :-) He's definitely better in it. Just listen to "No Words" on youtube with a hi-fi headphone, thats a disaster in every mean :)

BTW why would he like releasing anything as an artist? There really not so much reason to do it:

- it makes nothing to very little money, especially in this small segment of IDM/lento, especially compared to LIVE evenings
- theres no way to see the faces of the people when listening to the tracks released - while you CAN see their faces and overwhelming reactions on live, jumping, crying, laughing etc, with a release its just total silence against lives
- the mastering part and finishing songs is too boring and disappointing, after listening to your song for the 35-50th time in small details you really start to hate it :D (or just easily find no interest in it anymore)
- it takes a tremendous work to release anything, lots of phone calls, lots of paperwork, calculations, meetings, etc - guess it is not Gigi's World
- and he already told a lot of times that for most of the time he produces music only for himself, for his own joy, not for the World
- etc.

 

But after so much time an artist really have to release something to send a "ping" / "alive" signal to the world, to let them see that he's still working and alive (in Hungary they all still think he's died in a car accident in 2000, thats google's first hit after typing in Gigi D'Agostino's name lol). 

We'll see :D Hoping for the best this time.

Well, this time Gigi releasing album on a new label and this label is pretty big one, with huge history of releases and big amount of producers working with it. And I'm strongly doubt Gigi could easely cancel album this time. Also, it's Gigi and Luca Noise album. And Luca Noise never cancels his albums (for now).

i'm not saying that the release is going to be cancelled, but only that it won't be out in 10 days surely! ;)

I couldn't agree more ! The newer tracks he uploaded to youtube all sound very tinny. No bass at all. No words sounds like crap while its an amazing track on his livegigs.

 

I'm starting to think this could be a “digital only“ release like potenza adeguata back in the day. Id love to see gigi go more digital. Less paperwork for him, less steps in production. Besides he has so many unreleased tracks or alternate versions people would easily buy.

Was heißt hier verarschen? Also ganz ehrlich- es mag deine Meinung aus deinen Erfahrungen zu sein- okay. Aber jetzt so extrem pessimistisch zu sein, ist meines Achtens nicht so gerechtfertigt. Er hat konkrete Ansagen gemacht (Ende Januar/Anfang Februar) und da wird die CD auch rauskommen und Du wirst sie dann sicher kaufen können, ohne extra nach Italien fahren zu müssen.

Er hat damals niemanden absichtlich verarscht! Weder gab es ein Versprechen, das die Vollversionen zu den Previews in absehbarer Zeit erscheinen, noch kennst Du die genauen Hintergründe, warum das damals in Berlin mit seinem Live (und auch mit anderen Lives) nicht geklappt hat- Wenn Du dich lieber mit der (für dich sicher weniger schönen) Vergangenheit beschäftigen willst...deine Sache. 

Ich bin der Meinung, wir können sehr optimistisch sein, dass es ein Release Ende Januar/Anfang Februar geben wird. Dann sind die letzten Zweifler hier vielleicht auch irgendwann mal zufrieden gestellt, hoffe ich. Es ist doch nun wirklich eine lange Zeit vergangen und ich finde, man sollte sich über die aktuellen News freuen. Sowohl über die kommende Veröffentlichung mit Luca Noise, als auch über seine Ideen zur Teilhabe an seiner Entwicklung des Lento Violento von damals (1986) bis Heute. Es freut mich zu sehen, dass er uns, den Fans, etwas geben will und das er so aktiv ist :-)
