All nice and fine, but the Bolbottio slowed-down to this extent really works on lives only, I think 😄 Even Gigi has played this track with a little bit more tempo on lives as well. For my taste I did a +20% tempo change on that track, anybody interested PM 😊 Anyways my favourites so far (can change): Stronger Dance Ondeggio Borbottio (with the +20% tempo) In The Beginning Stai Mosso Surprising and nice release! I just wish more of the unreleased tracks to follow...

Instant buy… an awesome addition to the "E.P." folder of Gigi He really did a nice job there… also you can note the "Club Mix" version naming for "Keep Your Head Up" - it suggests Gigi himself is proposing the track for clubs as well. ... and after Psico Dance comes out he's going to rock all the clubs again. If it ever comes out, he will surely do! Until then, waiting for more of these wonderful EP's / singles… its really wonderful...

@musicista_bavarese: I think you must be right, "I'll give an advice out" sounds correct to me 🙂 The more I listen to "Gigi's Time", the more I think its an absolute masterpiece... its a very well-composed and delightful piece of art from Gigi... hands up for the production.. I like how things are going now... as the lyrics says "don't be afraid to ask for more" - Gigi we're really asking for more here! 😃

Maybe you're right, but from a language perspective it doesn't seem to be correct, it'd rather be "I'm givin' advice out", isn't it? The other one is also questionable from the same point of view: "Its doesn't" looks not so valid to me, "It doesn't" rather is. (but currently I can't listen to it, going to check it soon)

@hlennarz: Thanks, I just corrected the "hand to hold" part! However I'm not sure that the other one would be "leave and fight", given the whole song and its lyrics is full of positivism, what I can hear is "live and fight" (as in context "don't give up, you need to live and fight!"). Absolutely no idea what could the only unknown line be 😄 But I can also hear "sought", even though I'm not sure it really is...

My TOP 5 (almost the same as Phil's favs): Locomotiva (10/10) Passo Dub (the synth part is the best :D so funky track! ) Royals (well done!) Ghirlanda Cosa Rap Strange thing: "Stornello" was one of my favourite from lives which I've waited so much to be released, but it just somehow doesn't kicks ass, I dunno why… maybe the melody is repeating a bit too much, I don't know. Feels like missing something. Its a pity, otherwise there is a lot of potential in this track, which is absolutely cool and very (really!) well-done.

Sad but I have to agree. No dynamics at all, thats what came to my mind when listening to it too (with some exceptions)... unfortunately. I think some of these tracks would be so-called "B Sides" if Gigi were to upload them to youtube as he did some years before -tracks which have been created years ago and been abandoned since, and now brought back to "life", a bit mastering here and there, some extra effects and boom, it can be distributed. Well, I'm happy to have it released, but a bit also sad, because this is not the way it lived in my/our mind. (also WTF at 5:27, Gigi suddenly fades the track over, then the sound comes back for a final 0.1 sec- wat! Is it the same way in the released version too? Someone who already bought this track can confirm if it has sound clip error at the end of the track or not?) 3/10 The "Lost", the track we got for first is really something energetic and powerful. This is lento. Something old, but something new as well. Its mystic, its powerful, its dark - this is how we like it Gi' ^_^ No more words needed. 9/10 Cosmico is also something great, I expected this track to be released (nowadays he plays it on lives very much), but I thought maybe this is what going to be the track called "Dark" :D - which now we know doesn't exists, at least not on the EP called "Dark" lol. I think they're born in the new "era" of Gigi's lento, both should be relatively new tracks (I imagine them to be some kind of "twins", the one being created soon before/after the another), and they both have a similar sound/samples. Lost however is the younger & better looking one to me, so I'd choose her to go on a date lol :'D But Cosmico is also not bad, just not so powerful. 6/10 Sensa Ragione (Flusso Di Coscienza) - the idea is very good, and Gigi is really showing his creativity in this track. You can really say that its Gigi's track by first glance. However the sound is REALLY too flat to me… when I'm listening to it I also imagine a long-abandoned track which he might thought "ah okay, lets release it, they will definitely be shocked because no one ever heard it". And yeah the original "Senza Ragione" would have been not a big surprise, because I've heard it at least 192312893912 times :D So its something new for sure, something exciting. I just really think it needs some energy, it needs some more higher frequencies, seriously to me it sounds like a 128 kbps mp3, and that fade off at the end of the track is REALLY annoying… WHY, just why. Also the vocals are so much auto-tuned they're almost unrecognizable. While listening towards the end of the track I was hoping for some piano ending like we got used to by many of Gigi's tracks, or something such wonderful, but no, he choose "ah I don't have time to finish it and anyways its already an mp3 so what could I do for it, lets fade it off and publish"... this is how it feels. 5/10 Wild Weeeeelll its an interesting title for this track, because there are some "wild" lento tracks to me (like "Quoting" or "Distorsione Dag", or the "Oscillazione Dag" from 2007), but I wouldn't call this track that 'wild' :D Its rather "old fashioned lento", and I'm not saying its bad at all, but it doesn't shows much surprise, its not a new direction like where Luca & Gigi went with "Treno Lento", and not even one of the hardest, but instead more 'clubbish', a "Gigi's Loop" kind of lento track. Interesting to hear that its dynamic as well, just like "Lost", but its definitely an old track O.o Anyway, the only thing that its a bit repetative to me, I rather like the more melodic tracks, or lento tracks with more "push" and hardness. 6/10 Conclusion "Lost" is really the best piece of the EP. I think Gigi has much more powerful tracks than some of these, but to me it looks like if he's waiting for something to release them, or maybe he doesn't even want to release them at all, just keep the best of his arts for his live nights, and pull the others from his hat to put it online, so we can listen to him. Win-win. And when he decides to release a track he sometimes kind of purposedly """ruins""" it a little bit with flangers, fade-offs on an EXTENDED PLAY (OMG), and such, so if you are willing to go to his live, maybe he can enjoy the original version of the track. :'D Who knows Gigi's mind. The only thing which got my interesting is that the "Treno Lento" has full of powerful and well-mastered tracks (Luca's mastering, I guess), while all the other Gigi releases (not just this Dark EP) sometimes lacks of power. But anyways, I really think some of the above tracks are so old that its even wonderful to have released in any version, so at the end of the day we can be grateful to have them. :) But one thing for sure, they are not the one which are dominate the World with a new & energizing sound of Lento. ("Lost" is really close to it, though ^^. Its pure art.) That was my 2 cents.

Hell yeah, I was hoping for this track to be released on "Treno Lento", actually I was almost sure that its going to be on it - but not At least now its there, better later than never! Nice track! Maybe in the first weeks of January. Btw to me it sounds like an unmastered selection of some old tracks + some added flanger effect and its done (kinda like Fastolento, tracks without intro-outro). I don't have high hopes at all now... but of course we can still be surprised.

I don't think the version what Gigi plays differs really much from this, apart from its a little bit slower in BPM (about 5-10%), and I wouldn't call it a remix, but just an "edit" of this track (Gigi only plays the first part, and the last "lento-ish" part on his lives, also the part before the first drop has been cut, but thats all).

I remember that topic from very long-long time ago (if we're talking about the same one), someone asked Gigi about mastering, and he replied like "mastering.. what is mastering?" :D Not sure if he was joking though. Anyway, what did I just find: I'm a little bit sad because I thought its definitely Gigi & Luca's production, that has to be on Psico Dance once released. But it appears I was wrong… :D Do you guys know this track?

Its exactly what he said: he cannot MASTER the tracks by himself alone, you can really say that given by his previous releases. :-) Thats where Luca (also) kicks in to the picture. Gigi is a musical genius for sure, but nobody is capable to do everything on his own - but as we know Gigi, he is probably not the one who is going to admit it. Also he may not find the final product good enough, remember that he must be in a very hard situation: - the new disc has to be a REALLY good one for the old fans as well (last non-mixed release came about 10 years ago) - … but as Gigi definitely wants to be on the top once again (and as an artist you need to redeclare yourself from time to time), the sound also needs to be pretty much different to what he did before at all --> here comes the now-popular PSY style (when Gigi kicked in back in time, the eurodance/(italo)dance/club was hugely popular, now it isn't at all, so this PSY style - which by the way, resembles a lot of things to lento - comes very handy) - also, he don't just want to "release something" (as he does with his not-that-new lento stuff, to drop some candy for the fans in the meantime), but to release something for the future, sounds which (at least some of 'em) are/could gonna be "hits", or at least a compilation which doesn't get forgotten so fast :-) - mastering is a pretty hard thing, and Gigi definitely doesn't like that part of the music production at all (listen to "No words" on youtube, thats Gigi on his own). When you play a track live on a booming sound system, nobody is going to analyze the sounds with eager ears (also you can't even do that in a disco even if you want to), but instead just enjoy the party. Now when you release something you have to make sure everything sounds totally and 10000% percent fine on most of the audio systems/headphones etc, just as you imagined, with having the most potential, big boomy bass where it needs to be boomy bass, and also crispy highs at the same time. Thats a really, really hard thing to do! (btw: listen to the "Dynoro & Gigi - In My Mind" track on Spotify, and then quickly switch to "Lento Violento - More", back and forth - you'll hear a clear difference and inferiority of Gigi's sounds regarding dynamics, punchiness and mastering technics at all - it just really, really lacks them. The track "More" could have a lot "more":) potential in itself, but Gigi is struggling to get it out from the track, you can say it. ) - last but not least, pretty sad thing but it may be his last release (given the fact that he struggles to release anything everytime...), so it really counts what is gonna be on that disc, given it may be a "closure" to his musical career (at least in physical compilation CD format). (also, this mastering topic is quite interesting, because its really a two-handed sword: if you can create great music, but you can't master it properly, then you simply fail in today's music world - its just not enough. In this case you have to give out your music from your hands to external music production/mastering agencies, and they may do it for you for a pretty high price, but the mastering may also alter the whole sounding of a given record while they process it. In easier words, it may be "A" when you dream the song itself, and after a finished mastering, it may become "B", a totally new track, even though it was "just" normalized here & there by a team, having some more vibrancy added, etc etc, so the track itself is basically the same, but sounds totally different to ears - of course, at least now it sounds "fair", so just as it needs to be heard on a CD - but as an artist, its not how you'd like it to have it released, because its not what you wanted. Its a pretty interesting topic btw, and I think to narrow it down, basically we must be waiting because of two things: - Gigi doesn't want to let a team master his productions, but he wants to do everything by himself / Luca on their own - he & Luca has just finalized some of the tracks which they'd like to put on the disc, and those tracks wasn't even nowhere when Gigi said "coming in the next weeks" back in January :) I think we gonna have a completely other tracklist than we'd have in January :D (with the previous one having much more lento stuff, and the new one having barely any lento/maybe no lento at all - and that also explains his many lento releases & album for the fans -)
