INTERVIEW WITH STEOX 01. What's your name, how old are you and where do you live? My name is Stefano Di Nunzio, I'm 38 and I live in the southern area of Milan. 02. Why did you choose the artist name “Kikko/SteoX” and why did you changed it lately? Kikko was born by chance honestly, I had decided to register on Gigi's forum and I didn't know which nickname to use... so I put the first one that came to mind, Kikko 😄 It has never been my artist name! SteoX is simply the transformation of the way my friends call me... "Steo" 😄 03. What is your job? I am self-employed and work in the family business at the moment! For the future I hope to be able to transform my passion for music into a job. 04. When and why did you start making music and which was your first success? I started very early, at about 12/13 years old with the PlayStation 1. There was a beautiful game called "Music" that allowed you to create songs, that's where I fell in love with production. I couldn't tell you which song was the most successful, for me the most important is definitely "Close Your Eyes" by Angels Never Cry that I produced when I was 17. That's where it all started. 05. How many tracks did you make altogether and how much were played by Gigi? It's hard to quantify, I created so many overall! Gigi played almost everything I passed to him, especially in the evening 😄 06. What are your favourite tracks from other artists, from Gigi and also from yourself? As for mine, I couldn't tell you, maybe one that has yet to come out 😄"Gigi's Love" for sure and then I love Martin Garrix musically! In reality though, I listen to anything of any genre! 07. How long does it take for you to produce a song? It depends on the song, it can take 1 day or 1 month… there are too many variations! For example, for "Viaggetto" it took 2 days… while "Jump" I worked on for 2 months before arriving at the version that I then published. 08. What is your inspiration when you want to create something new? I never start with a very precise idea… for melodies I write down some chords and then I start studying them, for human voices I almost always start from a vocal and then I work on everything else! 09. What do you think about your own music and what does it mean to you? On this I see it very much like Gigi… music must reflect the person who creates it and must convey what the person who creates it feels. I like this freedom that you have in music and I don't like having to adapt to what the market demands… freedom (even in music) is fundamental. 10. Who is behind "The Love Family" and "Noise Of Love" and how did they came to life? They are 2 separate projects… "Love Family" are many people who carried out different projects… for example "Viaggetto" there is me and Oreste Spagnuolo…. "Noise of Love" are Oreste Spagnuolo and Mario Scalambrin. 11. With who did you also work together? I did something with Dallas and then I collaborated a lot with Oreste Spagnuolo. Honestly I am a person who does not like collaborations, I prefer to do what I like alone! 12. Are you doing only music production or also DJing? No no, only productions… the world of DJing has never excited me. 13. Do you play an instrument? Piano and some guitar, but all at an amateur level. 14. In which way Gigi D'Agostino got your tracks and how did you feel when you heard them for the first time in his sets? How was the relation between both of you? I always got to Gigi through Oreste, because he already collaborated with Gigi. Hearing your own tracks in the sets, on the radio or on CD was definitely very exciting, especially the first time! With Gigi I have always had a beautiful friendly relationship, we often spoke even about things outside of music... he taught me a lot not only about music and I will always thank him. 15. Did Gigi just use your tracks exactly how you made them or do you two even worked together on some tracks (and if so, how did you work together)? He used them exactly as you heard them, no changes or collaborations 😄 16. Many of the other "Co-Artists" (Andrex, Dallas, LuHa MsM, Romanzi and Dendo) released their tracks in the early 2010s. You had some short edits on Soundcloud back then, deleted them and just came back in 2025. Why? I didn't even want to publish them honestly, I would have preferred to start from scratch with the SteoX project with new music. I published them simply because I heard that some songs were circulating online and some people were passing them off as their own. So now everything is clear and no one can speculate. 17. Did you wish, that besides the "Gigi D'Agostino & The Love Family" songs some of your harder Lento Violento tracks were released on Gigi Compilations? Actually, other songs were supposed to be released, but then there were some problems and nothing came out anymore. 18. What do you think about Gigi D'Agostino as a musician and also as a person? As a musician I can say little because I have never worked with him in the studio so I don't know... as a person there is little to say, in my opinion he is a great man before being a great DJ. 19. With who would you wish to collaborate? Martin Garrix 😄 No as I told you I don't like collaborations 😄 20. What do you plan for the near future? You released already more than 30 tracks on the "Memories EPs", will there also be more of your old stuff coming? Memories Vol. 6 will be released and then, as far as the past is concerned, nothing more will be released officially. As I was telling you, I want to propose new music with various sounds taken from the past, on May 16th a single called "Back To The Future" will be released (not by chance 😄), which will recall the 2000s. Ich höre mir beide Versionen gerade zum ersten Mal an – und kann mich der herrschenden Meinung hier nur sehr bedingt anschließen. Will sagen: Ich finde die Version mit Lizot und Widemode einen echten Banger! Klar, es ist weitgehend nicht der gewohnte Gigi-Style, dennoch meine ich, seine "Finger" rauszuhören, vor allem hier mit dem Klangteppich: https://youtu.be/5J0XCcxC_nE?t=73 ... Die Melodie und die Harmonien spiegeln in meinen Ohren den früheren Gigi weit mehr wider als aktuellere seiner Singles wie "My New Life" oder "Beautiful". Für genau solche moll-lastige Harmonien wie in Yo Te Daré habe ich Gigi immer geliebt! Auch wenn die Melodie nicht auf seinem Mist gewachsen ist (wie so viele, derer er sich bedient hat im Laufe seines künstlerischen Schaffens)... Die Version von DJ Selecta gefällt mir nur am Anfang besser, bis etwa 1:20, ehe das dröhnende Bassgeratter anfängt (in meinen Ohren furchtbar). Ich hoffe auch, dass Gigi (und evtl. Luca) noch mindestens eine weitere Version von dem Song rausbringen!

Früher wär der Song unter "Il Folklorista" rausgekommen und natürlich auch in einem langsameren Tempo. Hoffentlich gibt es da noch den ein oder anderen Mix in nächster Zeit. Ansonsten bleibt es bei "einmal hören und dann vergessen."

Leider ist die Lento Violento Zeit vorbei. Ich fand es sehr schön wo Gigi klassische Instrumente verwendet hat. Die Gigi Canta Songs mochte ich sehr gerne, aber genauso die englischen Vocals, Lento Violento songs. Marani's Stimme fand ich auch wunderschön, vielleicht kommen ja noch Songs von Ihm? Würde es mir uns allen wünschen wenn Gigi noch Songs mit Marani release. Schade das nur noch wenig Lento Violento von Gigi in letzter Zeit gekommen ist.... Ich finde die neuen Singles nicht besonders gut gelungen, wie IN MY MIND, HOLLYWOOD, MY NEW LIFE und jetzt YO TE DARE. Wenn ich einen Wunsch von Gigi bekommen könnte, würde ich mir ein Scialadance Vol.2 wünschen.

It was recognized in Live in Sicilia 2000 as the 'Original Club Mix' version, I suppose it is a false positive L'AMOUR TOUJOURS ( FESTA MIX ) also exists... I just wanted to ask, the 'Para Bailar Mas' mixes should be included in the web-mixes list? Based on the Lentanova version that was uploaded firstly on that channel and later as an official release, I can say, in a strange way, that PBM was REALLY a GGDAG creation (the way the titles of that mixes and Tutto Dag mixes are written are another crucial thing for me to think it)

Der Selecta Remix ist so viel mehr Gigi als das Original 🫤

Wenn es einen Gigi Remix gibt, wie auch bei Shadows Of The Night, Never Be Lonely & Co., wieso kann man dann nicht einfach ein Single Release wie früher veröffentlichen, bei dem es einen Radio Mix, einen Extended Mix und dann noch diverse Remixe gibt, vorzugsweise von den verschiedenen Einzel-Artists, die da "zusammen"gearbeitet haben. Dann wäre für jede Zielgruppe was dabei

This can be an easy money track, duration something like 2:28...not to much effort, put a big name on it for bigger audience and say Job all done... Turns out it is even worse, my goodness 1:58....1:58 for an official release...and one of the most simple, I can make better music /releases by using an AI client Please skip this kind of crap already, we are not waiting for these kind of releases, release 'Sara perché ti amo). So, Macbook gestartet, Songs wie "per me la musica" oder " favola fantastica" rein und geht schon um einen kleinen Bericht zu schreibe. Salzburg also... Wo für mich live mässig alles vor 25 Jahren begann. Jubiläum also. Nach der ganzen schwierigen Zeit hät ich mir nie gedacht, daß sich noch jemals eine Gelegenheit bieten würde um im Rahmen eines Lives Gigi wieder zusehen. Zum Glück sind Dinge die dies unmöglich gemacht hätten vergangen. Pandemien und solche Sachen. Discotheken haben es im Moment echt schwer, mehr sind zugesperrt als das noch welche überlebt haben. Die, die überlebt haben, sind am kämpfen. Die Ausgehkultur hat sich sehr verändert. War in Österreich sowieso schon immer sehr speziell. Zum saufen. Da habe ich nie dazugehört. Mir war immer die Musik das Wichtigste. Ein Dj der so ungefähr das spielte, was mir gefallen hat und der Abend war schon gerettet. ABER: Da kam ein mutiger Veranstalter und hat das nahezu unmögliche möglich gemacht. Für Gigi eine Bühne in Österreich geschaffen. Ich kann nur den Hut ziehen vor so viel Engagement und Können! Ein großes Danke an alle, die dies überhaupt möglich gemacht haben! Als wir von den Lives erfahren haben, haben wir nicht lange gezögert und für beide Abende Tickets für front of Stage besorgt. Betty und ich. Das letzte gemeinsame Live ist mittlerweile 16 Jahre her. Es war in Turin, damals an meinem Geburtstag- als Gigi seine Eltern mit hatte. Tja und als ob keine 16 Jahre dazwischen wären, so haben wir nahtlos da angehängt, wo wir aufgehört haben. Wir sind extra früher in die Arena, da wir uns Plätze ganz vorne sichern wollten. Wenn schon, dann richtig. Dies ist uns auch gelungen. Die Wartezeit war an beiden Tagen recht kurzweilig, da es immer etwas zu schauen, erzählen und lachen gab. Wie bei allen Konzerten dieser Reihe in Österreich, kam Gigi überpünktlich um 21Uhr und beendete die Show auch strickt nach Zeitplan um 23Uhr. Die Stimmung war an beiden Abenden wunderbar. Am Samstag waren die Menschen in unserer Umgebung eventuell noch ein Stück mehr vom Glück erfüllt…. Lauter lachende, glückliche, beseelte Menschen rund um uns. Die Videos und Fotos dokumentieren dies recht gut. Gigi selber hatte ein großes Team mit. Alles ganz netten Leuten, welche die Lives gut begleitet haben. Zusammen mit Leuten von der Sicherheit, der Messe, vom Veranstalter, Pyro, schon ein Wahnsinn welch Aufwand so eine Veranstaltung ist. Jedenfalls hat wirklich jeder einen top Job abgeliefert und das Konzert somit sicher, schön bunt, laut, einzigartig gemacht. Von den Sets her, war es ok, aber ich muß sagen, selbst wenn er 2h Tetris durchgespielt hätte, irgendwann hätte er mich erwischt. Live ist eben live und irgendwann reisst es einen mit. Besonders habe ich mich über die fantastische L´amour Toujours Version gefreut, die er am 14.2. beim Live auf dem Schiff gespielt hat. Das ist schon was besonderes. Zumal ich die Liveversion von L´amour Toujours die er 12/13 gespielt hat, bedauerlicher weise nie live hören konnte. Hät ich gerne mal gehört und die Stimmung wahrgenommen. Ja uns so hab ich mich am Live über so manch besonderen Song gefreut, manchmal erstaunt hingehört, manchmal überrascht, manchmal etwas naja, doch im grossen und ganzen hat es schon gepasst. Österreich ist eben Österreich und nicht Italien. Es waren große Konzerte wo Kommerz gefragt ist. Ich frag mich immer, bei der Masse an Menschen: Wieviele kennen wirklich die Werke von Gigi? Die gesamte Bandbreite. Die Entwicklung der Wege und die jeweiligen Schritte? Wer kennt Il Programmino? Wer Cammino? Quelle che mi piace? Wenn kennt die ganzen Pseudonyme, die ganzen Projekte, die Mixe und und und und so weiter und so fort. Da werden wir in Österreich vermutlich auf einsamen Pfaden sein. Ich persönlich möchte keinen Augenblick der letzen 26 oder noch mehr Jahre vermissen, die mich Gigi mit seiner Musik begleitet, führt und stützt. Keinen Ton, Keine Harmonie, keinen Übergang. An gewisse Kleinigkeiten kann ich mich wohl ewig erfreuen. Ein Song hier, ein Song da, ein perfekter Übergang, ein eingelegtes Gefühl da. Ein Blick eines Fans, die Überraschung, die Freude, die Leidenschaft, die Insider, die Verbindungen, das feine zwischen den Zeilen… Es gibt so viel… und der Grundstein dieses Erlebens auf Lives wurde für mich in der Nachtschicht Salzburg gelegt. Grad im Moment läuft „Felicita“ perfekter könnte man das wirken der Musik nicht beschreiben… Vielleicht schreibe ich später noch was zu der Tracklist.. da wär ja Klagenfurt auch noch offen…

Salzburg war am Samstag einfach Mega ( zumindest die erste Stunde 🙃 ) , danach spielt er leider viele "Nicht Gigi" Tracks was ich immer wieder Schade finde, weil Material hat er ja zur Genüge 🫣 Auch die neuen Versionen von Bla Bla Bla, La Danse , You Spin Me Round und I Wanna Tanz sind echte Kracher. Er schafft es immer wieder neues Leben in die alten Schinken zu bringen. Viele fragten sich ob er genau das selbe Set vom Freitag spielen würde.....JEIN. Intro gleich wie am Freitag, dann spielte er die ersten 60min ganz andere Tracks bzw. die bekannten in anderer Reihenfolge. Somit ist wirklich jeder Gig, egal wo - immer individueller. Mir fällt auch, umso näher an Italien...umso besser 😊 Gigi selbst, einfach gut drauf🥰 Seine positive Stimmung überträgt sich 1:1 auf das Publikum welches von der gesamten Show begeistert ist.Kein vergleich zu den alten Clubzeiten wo er kommentarlos erschienen ist und nur sein Ding gemacht hat.
