Mich würde interessieren, wie Spinge Mas zustande kam... Ist das irgendwie so eine Ur-Version oder mehr parallele Alternativ-Version von Mas Fuerte? Es klingt sooo vertraut, aber dennoch verursacht dieser Titel einen Knoten in meinem Hirn beim Hören 😂

I love how Gigi made track Transmission.

Recipe: simply cut intro from Again (Gigi Tanz), slow it a bit (with pitch down, why not?) and repeat x2 times (roughly) 🙂

Wow, was für ein Release!

Parlotta, Danzofono, Vaporetto, Mossa Dag - das sind auf die Schnelle meine Favoriten.

Interessant wäre ja noch zu wissen, wann die Songs jeweils entstanden sind. Happy Laser klingt für mich nach einem der ältesten Songs auf dem Album, der könnte durchaus aus den 90ern sein. Bei Trasmission wäre interessant, ob der eventuell sogar schon vor der Verwendung als Intro von Again exisitiert hat - könnte ich mir gut vorstellen.

Schön, dass er mal wieder ein Lento-Album der härteren Gangart veröffentlicht hat. Mit einem Release einiger der Songs auf einem Album hätte ich nicht gerechnet, umso schöner dass es doch passiert ist.

I don’t think Trasmission came before Again (Gigi Tanz). Gigi and Luca has played Trasmission live “recently” (before corona).

It also sounds slowed, like the trebble is kinda mushy. Typical artifact.

Because It was pitched down. Same was with YT version of Hung Up.

yeah. I tried to create a full version of the again tanz mix. unfortunately its kinda ruined by this slow version being super loud & distorted once you speed it up. *g* it's around 3.5db louder than again on ieri oggi 1

 

Oh well, I can at least create "Trasmission (Mantra Dag Psico Loop Extended Mix) (No Fadeout)"

It would make sense if “Trasmission” was older than “Again” (Gigi tanz mix), like slower and simpler “Saltarén” was released before “Wellfare” (I wanna tanz).

Well, I think the track is before that version of Again, because the album name says 1995-2015. Maybe it was a proof of concept song and now they release it. Isn't the first time GG start a new song with an older one.

it says 1995-2015 likely because of "Well in the Bell" being a modern take on "Giallone Remix" (though that was released in 1994. Close enough I guess).

 

Trasmission came after Again 10000%.

You can hear how Gigi used a filter to distinguish the cut where the main portion would have started.

 

also, he didn't play Trasmission live until just shortly before his illness.

 

 

"Saltarén" is an entirely different track that just includes one melody of "Welfare (I Wanna Tanz)". It wasn't just slowed down/sped up.

Schon interessant wie sicher sich einige bei Dingen sind, von denen sie die Hintergründe gar nicht kennen. Nur weil Gigi einen Track irgendwann vermeintlich zum ersten mal spielt heißt das ja nicht, dass er vorher nicht exisitiert hat. Beispielsweise der Song "Whisper - Medley with But Not Tonight" - der kam 2016 im ersten YouTube-Megamix das erste mal an die Öffentlichkeit, ist aber, wie wir inzwischen wissen, aus dem Jahr 1997. Ob er ihn damals schon live aufgelegt hat werden wir wahrscheinlich nicht mehr herausfinden.

Trasmission kommt übrigens auch in einem YouTube-Video von 2014 vor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiWm3vk7cuE. Man könnte natürlich auch sagen, er hat es einfach langsamer abgespielt... das ist Auslegungssache.

Es ist m. E. nicht so abwegig, dass Gigi Songs produziert, von denen er Bestandteile, Melodien oder ganze Ausschnitte als Intro für einen anderen Song verwendet, bevor er den ursprünglichen Song spielt oder veröffentlicht. Was dann zuerst da war könnte nur Gigi selbst beantworten. Schade ist halt, dass er bei dem Relese die Jahreszahlen nicht hinzugefügt hat, das wäre sehr interessant gewesen.

When samples are stretched/contracted considerably, you can hear it, as the signature, for lack of a better word, becomes skewed and it sounds unnatural. E.g. the cymbals don’t sound like that unless they are stretched.

Makes no sense for him to create it at 135 BPM before Again, and then release it slowed down.

Also, it uses “instruments”, plugins, effects and samples that were not present in any of his music before Again/the Il Cammino time, and in most cases not available. It might allready have originated as a beat/sample/riff/etc. around the time Again (Gigi Tanz) was created. But Trasmission existing as a fully fledged track before Again (Gigi Tanz)? I simple do not believe so.

Another thing. The egg came before the chicken, since chickens evolved from dinosaurs and dinosaurs also layed eggs, meaning the parents of the first chicken were dinosaurs.

He has a point. But when we observe things that does not comply with physics, I myself become sure in my beliefs. I might be completely wrong.

And that Gigi hasn’t played Trasmission before Again is off course not a proof that Trasmission came after Again, but sure isn’t proving the opposite either 🙂

Your arguments about the process of slowing down the song sound very reasonable to me. But regarding Gigi you can never be sure.^^

A friend of mine says he's pretty sure that Gigi played on Tropics in 2005 an "extended" intro of Again without the Again part (omg, I hope I expressed well myself). This and for other reason is why I think is not a recently track.

Damit ist eigentlich alles dazu gesagt. Behauptungen sind anmaßend, wenn man es nicht genau weiß (und wer von uns war schon im Studio dabei?!)- es sind nur Vermutungen.

Vielleicht entsteht eine Idee aus einer anderen. Und so können auch Teile eines Songs, wie Intro/Outro Songs oder Teile von Songs sein, die es schon vorher gab.
